Our story
Glen Iris Upper Veterinary Clinic is a small family practice run by Dr Shane Moore and his son Dr Gerard Moore. We operate with honesty, integrity and continuity and value our close, trusted and familiar relationships with our clients and their pets.
As a small clinic operating with 2 vets and 3 support staff, we are able to maintain patient/ vet continuity and enjoy getting to know our clients. We see an enormous number of patients and do our best to see everyone in a timely manner. Unfortunately, we do not have the same availability or capacity as larger clinics.
We are committed to approaching each case logically, realistically and efficiently, acting in the best interests of you and your pet. We never try to sell or push products, tests or procedures that will not aid in case management.
The father and son team have worked together sharing their ideas, discussing cases and striving to make each other the best vets they can be. They combine new methodology with more traditional approaches to provide unique, high-quality care. Both Shane and Gerard are skilled and experienced clinicians and surgeons.
The clinic has fantastic staff to support and manage our vets in Albertine, Jessica and Shannyn, who are experienced at triage, and case awareness and are your typical first point of contact.

Dr Shane Moore

Dr Shane Moore started this clinic 30 years ago and has been committed to serving the local community for decades. Dr Shane has close to 45 years’ experience and is passionate about offering good, wholesome advice and providing excellent care to his patients.
Dr Gerard Moore
B.V.Sc (Hons), Melb.
Dr Gerard Moore joined the practice 15 years ago. Dr Gerard was raised at a vet clinic and regularly helped his dad at work. He grew up with a love for animals and a passion for their care and wellbeing.
